TDA is currently looking to hire an Assistant Controller with Government contract accounting experience. A highly skilled professional with a minimum of 5 years experience of accounting management experience and cost accounting for a federal Government contractor is a must.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must be a fully involved manager and be able to work harmoniously with both employees and other management personnel.
  • Maintain our project-based accounting systems as Assistant Controller for Government and commercial contracts.
  • Prepare monthly accounting records and reports
  • Prepare and present financials and associated reports.
  • Analyze and explain variances from annual budgets
  • Manage the A/R, A/P, P/R, general ledger and collection function.
  • Coordinate outside audits with outside independent auditors and regulatory agencies (DCAA), oversee preparation of required items.
  • Establish and maintain accounting procedures and controls

Requirements of Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting required, CPA certification a plus
  • Must have good knowledge of general accounting theories, principles and practices with a solid knowledge of Government accounting
  • Cost accounting standards and FAR/DFARs knowledge
  • Minimum of 5 years managerial experience in government contract accounting.
  • Experience with and Microsoft Dynamics SL
  • Experience with hands on preparation and review of incurred cost submissions
  • Financial Statement preparation
  • Prior Supervisory Experience

TDA  has a position open for an electrical or mechanical engineer.  The ideal candidate would have a B.S. in electrical or mechanical engineering and one to three years of experience. TDA carries out R&D and product development for equipment including sensors and devices for medical use and personnel protection.

This position involves the complete range of sensor and device development and involves hands on laboratory testing and data analysis.  It also includes designing and building prototype devices, evaluating the prototypes, and preparing reports describing the results and conclusions. The person in this position will also develop improved sensor algorithms. All projects also involve the design and analysis of electrical components that go into the sensors and devices, so a solid understanding of electrical engineering is required.

The ideal candidate for this position will have skills in computer and embedded systems programming, including C/C++, C#, Java and Labview.  Skills with wiring/soldering and the ability to interpret and build electrical designs from circuit schematics will also be useful.  The candidate should have the ability to test and verify the functionality of circuit and sensor designs and the desire to develop these projects towards commercialization.  Skills with computer aided mechanical (SolidWorks) and electrical (Altium) design software packages are desirable.

Recent graduates applying for this opening should include their GPA in their resume. TDA carries out work in a wide variety of areas, and virtually all staff work on two or three projects simultaneously.  Therefore, the ability to learn quickly and handle multiple assignments is essential.

TDA has an immediate opening for a full time, highly motivated, versatile accountant to perform a variety of tasks. This position is varied, with responsibilities for accounts payable review, sales and use tax return preparation, payroll and benefits processing, bank deposits and reconciliations, accounts receivable preparation and monitoring, and other responsibilities as needed. As a government contractor, we have additional reporting and audit requirements, so this position will provide audit support and assist with the preparation of periodic and annual reports. Qualifications:

TDA Research, Inc. has an opening for an Engineering Research Technician. Responsibilities will involve building and modifying, troubleshooting and running automated chemical reactors. The prospective engineering tech at TDA Research must be able to:

– Follow detailed instructions when performing established testing protocols

– Keep complete records in lab books

– Learn to program control systems including Opto 22 or LabView and run automated tests

– Lift 50 lbs and be able to move quickly from task to task: this is not (primarily) a desk job

– Execute safe and effective chemical handling techniques: many of our projects and processes make use of catalysts or chemicals that require proper handling and/or storage

– Graph data in Excel

– Communicate effectively

TDA Research, Inc. has an opening for a bench chemist. The ideal candidate would have broad experience in an R&D environment.

The position will focus on running, developing methods for and maintaining a wide variety of analytical equipment. Equipment of interest includes GCs with a wide variety of detectors, GC/MS, LC, LC/MSD and a wide variety of continuous process monitors. Analytes of interest include halides, trace metals, organosulfur compounds in addition to the full spectrum or organic compounds. The work may also involve chemical synthesis, assisting P.I.s and Senior Chemists in the synthesis, formulation, preparation and testing of catalysts and sorbents.

Important skills include:

Ability to develop new analytical and/or adapt existing published methods to new conditions.
Ability to carry out organic and inorganic syntheses and formulations.
Ability to troubleshoot the methods and apparatus in-use to gather data on operating experiments.
Ability troubleshoot and maintain analytic hardware and sampling electronics.
Ability to design and build the sampling and control systems needed to interface the instrumentation with continuous chemical process equipment.
Ability to reduce data and prepare experimental and quality control reports.
Adaptability and the willingness to continually learn and help develop new equipment is a necessity, as is an ethic to work safely.

Good computer and communication skills are also required. The ideal candidate would have at least three years of related industrial experience, a degree in chemistry, biology or engineering and be a US citizen or permanent resident.
