TDA offers a complete benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, 401K plan with employer match and paid time off.

TDA  has a position open for an electrical engineer.  The ideal candidate would have a B.S. in electrical engineering and one to three years of experience. TDA carries out R&D and product development for equipment including sensors and devices for medical use and personnel protection.

This position involves the complete range of sensor and device development and involves hands on laboratory testing and data analysis.  It also includes designing and building prototype devices and printed circuit boards, evaluating prototypes, and preparing reports describing the results and conclusions. The person in this position will also develop improved sensor algorithms. All projects also involve the design and analysis of electrical components that go into the sensors and devices, so a solid understanding of electrical engineering is required.

The ideal candidate for this position will have skills in computer and embedded systems programming, including C/C++, C#, Java and Labview.  Skills with wiring/soldering and the ability to interpret and build electrical designs from circuit schematics will also be useful.  The candidate should have the ability to test and verify the functionality of circuit and sensor designs and the desire to develop these projects towards commercialization.  Skills with computer aided mechanical (SolidWorks) and electrical (Altium) design software packages are desirable.

Recent graduates applying for this opening should include their GPA in their resume. TDA carries out work in a wide variety of areas, and virtually all staff work on two or three projects simultaneously.  Therefore, an interest in and ability to learn quickly is essential.

For more information on TDA and the type of projects we carry out, please see our web site at www.tda.com. TDA is an equal opportunity employer and offers a complete benefits package.

To apply, please send a cover letter describing why you would be a good fit for this position, a resume and the self-identification form (as described at left) to resumes@tda.com with the words “ATTN: Electrical Engineer/TWS” in the subject line.

TDA has a position open for a research engineer. The ideal candidate would have a B.S. or M.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and three to five years of experience in a chemical industry or R&D environment. TDA carries out R&D in catalysis and adsorption, aerospace components, and personal protective equipment.  TDA’s objective is to carry out research that leads to commercial products, several products that are the result of our research have gone into production or large scale use, and others are nearing commercialization.

Our position involves the complete range of chemical process development and construction. Our work starts with the development and testing of catalysts and sorbents for the chemical, energy and defense industries, and runs through the scale up of the production of these materials and the processes that are based on them. All of these projects involve hands on laboratory and pilot testing of the materials, including the design, building and use of automated chemical reactors, analysis of the data, and the preparation of reports based on the data. All projects also involve the design and analysis of systems based on the new materials, so a good understanding of kinetics, mass transfer, heat transfer, fluid flow and chemistry are essential. Skills with computer aided mechanical design (SolidWorks) and/or fluids or process simulation is useful, as is the ability to prepare complete P&IDs and specify the process hardware. A person with both theoretical knowledge as well as hands-on experience would be ideal, as would experience in process scale up.

In the above position knowledge pertinent to the particular research area at TDA is a benefit, but our major requirements are a mastery of engineering fundamentals, experimental ability and/or experience scaling up chemical processes.  Recent graduates applying for this opening should include their GPA in their resume. TDA carries out work in a wide variety of areas, and virtually all staff work on two or three projects simultaneously.  Therefore, an interest in and ability to learn quickly is essential.
