Under the supervision of the Staff Accountant, this position is responsible for basic bookkeeping and accounting duties, primarily related to processing of documents for accounts payable entry into our accounting system.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in processing invoices/purchase orders for payment. Ensures that invoices/purchase orders are accurate, properly approved, and coded for entry.
  • Coordinate with program managers and staff accountant to ensure that all documentation and support are in order and that invoices are processed in a timely manner.
  • Match and file invoices after payment.
  • Establish new vendors and maintain vendor files.
  • Assist in annual audit retrieving documents and preparing them for auditor review.
  • Cross‐trained in duties of administrative assistant to cover the front desk; greeting employees and customers, assist in preparing outgoing shipments and providing information in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Data entry for gas cylinder inventory and maintain property control spreadsheets.
  • Other duties or special projects as requested.

 Experience and Education:

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • No experience required, but advanced courses in accounting or related field desirable.
  • Looking for a quick learner with effective verbal and written communication skills interested in expanding knowledge and experience in accounting and office administration.
  • High school or GED required.

 Full‐time position; 40 hours per week. Pay Range: $15/hour – $19.50/hour

The ideal candidate would have a B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry and three to five years of experience in a chemical industry or R&D environment. This person will perform a variety of research and development tasks in a chemical and analytical laboratory under the direction of a senior scientist, including organic and inorganic syntheses, materials characterization, and formulations development. The candidate should have a solid background in reaction and laboratory fundamentals, experimental design, and experience carrying out experiments and chemical syntheses.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute safe and effective chemical handling techniques
  • Follow detailed instructions when performing established experimental methods.
  • Use analytical methods to identify products and quantify the composition of product mixtures, including (but not limited to) GC, HPLC, NMR, FTIR and UV/VIS spectroscopy.
  • Analyze data and prepare experimental and quality control reports.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement in R&D projects.
  • Create safety documents, submit documentation for safety approval.
  • Keep detailed records.

Technical Requirements:

  • Excellent chemical hygiene.
  • Work with a variety of hazardous materials, such as compressed gases, cryogenic liquids, acids, bases, oxidizers, solvents, vacuum pump oils, and other hazardous chemicals. Some operations may require use of a dust mask or respirator.
  • Experience with wet chemistry sample preparation techniques including serial dilution.
  • Chemical process scale-up and large-batch synthetic experience are a benefit.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Excited to learn new areas of chemistry, materials science, and engineering.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.

TDA is seeking a highly qualified electrical engineer with a passion for developing advanced technologies and translating them into real-world applications.  The ideal candidate will have:

  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
  • 1-5 years of experience post Ph.D. in advanced technology related R&D
  • Experience in some of the following topics: sensors, programming, embedded systems, communication, electro mechanical systems, power management, and artificial intelligence/machine learning
  • Excellent writing and technical skills
  • An interest in expanding into new research fields

The ideal applicant would have experience in and be expected to participate in these activities:

  • Develop research ideas and write proposals for funding
  • Design and build first of a kind equipment such as novel sensors, control algorithms, robotics, RF equipment
  • Troubleshoot electronic equipment and sensors
  • Manage the design and fabrication of new processes, including preparing engineering design packages and cost estimates, working with consultants or subcontractors, managing budgets and project schedules.

We are looking for exceptional engineers with the passion, creativity, and skills to pursue varied technical research in a multi-disciplinary environment (including mechanical engineers, chemical engineers, material scientists, physicists, and chemists).  The research engineer will work under a Principal Investigator to build on current efforts and bring new research ideas to the group.  Effective proposal and report writing are important aspects of the position.

TDA has a position open for facilities and industrial technician.  TDA carries out R&D and process development for methods to produce new materials and equipment. The candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and five to ten years of work experience in installing, calibrating, maintaining and repairing equipment. HVAC, welding, electrical and mechanical skills are desirable.

The technician will work with researchers and engineers to:

  • Electrically/mechanically troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of laboratory equipment. (e. autoclaves, vacuum pumps, ovens, chillers, mixers.)
  • Assist with all laboratory moves and new equipment installations.
  • Under general supervision, calibrate various tools and instruments.
  • Perform basic plumbing and carpentry repairs.
  • Document records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed.

Attend training for First Aid CPR/AED and other training as required.

Assist in response to facility emergency events and serve as a team member on various response teams.

May require after hours response to emergencies.

  • Convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to independently assess problems and complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Ability to climb and work from ladders.
  • Current Driver’s License, able to be insured on company vehicles.
  • Eligible to be fork truck certified.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with good computer skills and knowledge of MS Office.
  • Experience with asset tracking and maintenance software preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of fire and electrical codes is desirable.

The technician may be required to work with a variety of hazardous materials, such as compressed gases, cryogenic liquids, acids, bases, oxidizers, solvents, vacuum pump oils, and other hazardous chemicals. The technician will receive specialized safety training and be an active member of the safety and spill teams. The technician will travel between sites, located 4 miles apart, in a personal vehicle.

Pay range is $22/hour to $26/hour.
