TDA Research, Inc., a research and development company located in Wheat Ridge, CO, has a position open for an Engineering Technician. The ideal candidate would have a high school diploma or GED. No specific work experience is required, however work experience in an industrial or R&D environment and additional training or trade skills are desirable.

The Engineering Technician will work with project leaders and engineers to assemble and troubleshoot prototype devices and to perform laboratory testing.

Preferred skills include:

  • Plumbing – gas and liquid
  • Basic knowledge of chemistry
  • Electrical wiring
  • General assembly
  • Familiarity with safety procedures
  • Welding
  • Machining
  • Familiarity with MS Office (including Excel for data management)

The Engineering Technician will:

  • Assemble and test prototype devices (including but not limited to water purification devices, filtration systems, and medical devices).
  • Perform wet chemistry techniques (after detailed training from an experienced scientist) such as mixing solutions, performing titrations, or preparing samples for analytical equipment.
  • Install, calibrate and maintain equipment.
  • Electrically/mechanically troubleshoot and maintain both new and existing laboratory equipment (autoclaves, pumps, ovens, chillers, mixers).
  • Assist with all laboratory moves and new equipment installations
  • Under general supervision, calibrate various lab tools and instruments (for example, mass flow controllers, thermocouples, data loggers, conductivity meters).
  • Maintain stores of consumables, order replacement parts, source alternative components, and acquire product quotes as needed.
  • Document records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed.
  • Convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

The candidate should be able to drive TDA vehicles and to use a pallet jack. The technician may be required to work with a variety of hazardous materials, such as compressed gases, cryogenic liquids, acids, bases, oxidizers, solvents, vacuum pump oils, and other hazardous chemicals. The technician will receive specialized safety training and be an active member of the safety and spill teams. The technician will travel between sites in a personal vehicle.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Ability to sit, stand, or kneel for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs and ladders

TDA carries out R&D in developing prototype devices, catalysis and adsorption, aerospace components, and personal protective equipment. TDA’s objective is to carry out research that leads to commercial products, several products that are the result of our research have gone into production or large-scale use, and others are nearing commercialization. TDA carries out work in a wide variety of areas, and virtually all staff work on two or three projects simultaneously.  Therefore, an ability to learn quickly is essential.

A successful candidate must be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers, English language proficiency, and have excellent analytical skills.

Annual salary range: $40,000 to $50,000 with the full benefits package.

Under the supervision of the Staff Accountant, this position is responsible for basic bookkeeping and accounting duties. The Accounting Clerk’s tasks are primarily related to processing of documents for accounts payable entry into our accounting system.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in processing invoices/purchase orders for payment. Ensures that invoices/purchase orders are accurate, properly approved, and coded for entry.
  • Enter invoices into accounting software.
  • File documents; invoices/check-stub and invoices to our customers.
  • Coordinate with program managers and staff accountant to ensure that all documentation and support are in order and that invoices are processed in a timely manner.
  • Establish new vendors and maintain vendor files.
  • Assist in annual audit retrieving documents and preparing them for auditor review.
  • Cross‐trained in duties of administrative assistant to cover the front desk; greeting employees and customers, assist in preparing outgoing shipments.
  • Provide information in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Data entry for gas cylinder inventory and maintain property control spreadsheets.
  • Other duties or special projects as requested.

 Experience and Education:

  • Basic knowledge of Office Suite and Adobe.
  • No accounting experience required, but advanced courses in accounting or related field desirable.
  • Looking for a quick learner with effective verbal and written communication skills interested in expanding knowledge and experience in accounting and office administration.
  • High school or GED required.

 Full‐time position; 40 hours per week.

Pay Range: $20/hour – $24/hour plus full benefits package.

TDA is looking to hire an Administrative Assistant at our newest facility in Golden, CO. This individual will assist with the majority of the Shipping and Receiving needs. Responsibilities:

  • Answer and transfer incoming calls with multi-line phone system.
  • Answer front door, accept deliveries, assist visitors and vendors.
  • Collate and distribute mail, both from outside TDA and interoffice.
  • Maintains office supply inventory – Checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing orders for supplies.
  • Direct administrative support to upper management.
  • Prepare shipping documents (labels, BOL, internal authorization) for both outbound and inbound Domestic and International.
  • Monitor and communicate tracking information to meet delivery times.
  • Obtain raw material quotes and place orders based on requirements provided by production team.
  • Correspondence with customers/vendors for scheduling and follow-up.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Proficient knowledge of Office Suite.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Ability to lift up 25 pounds.
  • Hazmat Shipping Certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge in supply chain management a plus.
  • Safety Data Sheet (SDS) knowledge a plus.

Pay rate is $20.00 – $24.00 per hour, with the full benefits package.

This position works within a group developing optical, electromagnetic, and magnetic resonance sensing tools. The applications for these tools are wide ranging, from structural health monitoring of materials to remote sensing to clinical diagnostics. Applicants with any prior experience working in projects related to nuclear magnetic resonance, electron paramagnetic resonance, optical spectroscopies, or electrical spectroscopies, are strongly encouraged to apply.

Strong candidates will have a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field, and experience in one or more of these areas:

We are looking for exceptional electrical engineers with the passion, creativity, and skills to pursue varied technical research in a multi-disciplinary environment.  The electrical engineer will work under a Principal Investigator to build on current efforts and bring new research ideas to the group.

A successful candidate must be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers, English language proficiency, and have excellent analytical skills.  The engineer will contribute to the design of embedded systems, program control algorithms, and build iterative prototypes for new components.

TDA has an opening for a Production Technician to carry out sorbent and catalyst production.  Production quantities may vary from pounds to tons of finished product.  Multiple processes are used, including mixers, extruders, presses, tanks, and furnaces.  Position will require production at all scales, with adequate notes and observations to facilitate historical record, reproduction, and further scale-up activities.  Production will require handling and transfer of large amounts of material and chemicals.  Applicant should be able to handle introduction of new processes and materials, and multitask to complete multiple production processes and schedules concurrently.  Previous experience in any of the following areas is beneficial:

  • Batch-based Processing and Production
  • Batch Control and History
  • Quality Control
  • Inventory Control
  • General Laboratory Record Keeping and Practices

Additionally, familiarity with production flow and packaging, streamlining and improving production processes, and troubleshooting product and process issues are also beneficial.

The candidate should have:

  • Excellent chemical hygiene.
  • Ability to work with a variety of hazardous materials, such as compressed gases, cryogenic liquids, acids, bases, oxidizers, and solvents. Some operations may require use of a dust mask or respirator.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.

TDA carries out R&D and process development for methods to produce new materials and equipment. TDA Research, Inc. is located outside Denver, Colorado with research offices in Wheat Ridge and Golden.

We have a position open for facilities general laborer.  The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and one to five years of work experience in general maintenance work.   The Facilities Laborer will perform general labor, basic repairs and preventative maintenance and light janitorial duties.

The laborer will work with Facilities and Operations staff to:

  • Assist with all laboratory and office moves and new equipment installations.
  • Perform basic plumbing and carpentry repairs.
  • Document records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed.
  • Attend training for First Aid CPR/AED and other training as required. Assist in response to facility emergency events and serve as a team member on various response teams.
  • May require after hours response to emergencies.
  • Convey information clearly and concisely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to assemble and disassemble mechanical components.
  • Ability to lift up 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
