Looking for a part-time employee whose job function is to assist Manager of Operations and Safety in routine tasks.

  • Calibrate and maintain safety equipment including monitors and alarms, fire extinguishers, safety showers, eye washes, etc. Maintain records of inspections.
  • Perform routine calibration on lab equipment. Assist in installation, set-up and moving of lab equipment.
  • Attend training for Colorado Hazardous Waste Management, OSHA HAZWOPER, Dangerous Goods Shipping, First Aid CPR/AED and other training as required.
  • Assist in response to facility emergency events and serve as a team member on various response teams.
  • Maintain inventories of critical safety equipment and breakroom supplies.
  • Serve as authorized preparer for shipments of dangerous goods.
  • Perform routine walk throughs of facility to ensure safety and housekeeping compliance.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of outdoor storage areas.
  • Perform routine facilities tasks including cleaning, furniture moving and assembly.
  • Will travel between sites, located 4 miles apart, in a personal vehicle
  • Perform other tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • HS diploma or GED.
  • 1- 3 years related experience or training
  • Ability to lift up 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Ability to climb and work from ladders.
  • Current Driver’s License, able to be insured on company vehicles.
  • Eligible to be fork truck certified.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with good computer skills and knowledge of MS Office.

Pay range is $17/hour to $21/hour, as this is a part time position it carries no associated benefits.

TDA Research, Inc., a research and development company located in Wheat Ridge, CO, has a position open for an Engineering Technician. The ideal candidate would have a high school diploma or GED, and preferably some college coursework. Also desirable are work experience in an industrial or R&D environment and additional training or trade skills.

The Engineering Technician will work with project leaders and engineers to assemble and troubleshoot prototype devices and to perform laboratory testing.

Preferred skills include:

  • Plumbing – gas and liquid
  • Basic knowledge of chemistry
  • Electrical wiring
  • General assembly
  • Familiarity with safety procedures
  • Welding
  • Machining
  • Familiarity with MS Office (including Excel for data management)

The Engineering Technician will:

  • Assemble and test prototype devices (including but not limited to water purification devices, filtration systems, and medical devices).
  • Perform wet chemistry techniques (after detailed training from an experienced scientist) such as mixing solutions, performing titrations, or preparing samples for analytical equipment.
  • Install, calibrate and maintain equipment.
  • Electrically/mechanically troubleshoot and maintain both new and existing laboratory equipment (autoclaves, pumps, ovens, chillers, mixers).
  • Assist with all laboratory moves and new equipment installations
  • Under general supervision, calibrate various lab tools and instruments (for example, mass flow controllers, thermocouples, data loggers, conductivity meters).
  • Maintain stores of consumables, order replacement parts, source alternative components, and acquire product quotes as needed.
  • Document records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed.
  • Convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

The candidate should be able to drive TDA vehicles and to use a pallet jack. The technician may be required to work with a variety of hazardous materials, such as compressed gases, cryogenic liquids, acids, bases, oxidizers, solvents, vacuum pump oils, and other hazardous chemicals. The technician will receive specialized safety training and be an active member of the safety and spill teams. The technician will travel between sites in a personal vehicle.

Physical Requirements:

TDA has a position open for a Chemist / Materials Scientist. The ideal candidate would have an M.S. in Chemistry, Materials Science or a related discipline and zero to ten years of experience in a chemical industry or R&D environment. Responsibilities will include carrying out tests of materials, analyzing the data to identify relationships and trends, and preparing reports. It is preferable for the candidate to have experience in application of computational chemistry to identify materials with desirable properties, including familiarity with Gaussian software and ability to program in Python.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform various research and development tasks in a chemical and analytical laboratory under the direction of a senior scientist or engineer.
  • Execute safe and effective chemical handling techniques: many of our projects and processes use materials that require proper handling and storage.

TDA has an opening for a Production Technician to carry out sorbent and catalyst production.  Production quantities may vary from pounds to tons of finished product.  Multiple processes are used, including mixers, extruders, presses, tanks, and furnaces.  Position will require production at all scales, with adequate notes and observations to facilitate historical record, reproduction, and further scale-up activities.  Production will require handling and transfer of large amounts of material and chemicals.  Applicant should be able to handle introduction of new processes and materials, and multitask to complete multiple production processes and schedules concurrently.  Previous experience in any of the following areas is beneficial:

  • Batch-based Processing and Production
  • Batch Control and History
  • Quality Control
  • Inventory Control
  • General Laboratory Record Keeping and Practices

Additionally, familiarity with production flow and packaging, streamlining and improving production processes, and troubleshooting product and process issues are also beneficial.

The candidate should have:

  • Excellent chemical hygiene.

TDA Research has a position open for an Industrial Mechanic/Maintenance Tech Level II-III.  TDA carries out R&D and process development for methods to produce new materials and equipment. The candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and five to ten years of work experience in installing, calibrating, maintaining, rebuilding and repairing equipment. HVAC, welding, electrical and mechanical skills are desirable. Trade schooling preferred.

The technician will work with researchers and engineers to:

  • Electrically/mechanically troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of laboratory equipment. (i.e. autoclaves, vacuum pumps, ovens, chillers, mixers.)
  • Assist with all laboratory moves and new equipment installations.
  • Under general supervision, calibrate various tools and instruments.
  • Carry out tasks and projects delegated to them by supervisor and will be expected to complete projects with little supervision at times.
  • Perform basic plumbing and carpentry repairs.

TDA Research, Inc., a research and development company located in Wheat Ridge, CO, has a position open for an Engineering Intern. The ideal candidate would Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or be actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s program at an accredited university. The Engineering Intern will work with project leaders and engineers to assemble and operate experimental apparatuses. Preferred skills include:

The Engineering Intern will:

  • Calibrate and maintain safety equipment including monitors and alarms, fire extinguishers, safety showers, eye washes, etc. Maintain records of inspections.
  • Perform routine calibration on lab equipment. Assist in installation, set-up and moving of lab equipment.
  • Attend training for Colorado Hazardous Waste Management, OSHA HAZWOPER, Dangerous Goods Shipping, First Aid CPR/AED and other training as required.
  • Assist in response to facility emergency events and serve as a team member on various response teams.
  • Maintain inventories of critical safety equipment and breakroom supplies.
  • Serve as authorized preparer for shipments of dangerous goods.

TDA has a position open for a Chemist I position. The ideal candidate would have a B.S. in Chemistry and zero to five years of experience in a chemical industry or R&D environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform a range of research and development tasks in a chemical laboratory under the direction of a senior scientist or engineer.
  • Execute safe and effective chemical handling techniques: many of our projects and processes use materials that require proper handling and storage.
  • Follow detailed instructions when performing established experimental methods.
  • Carry out instrumental analysis of materials and coatings.
  • Operate automated and semi-automated equipment
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement in R&D projects.
