TDA is seeking a highly qualified RF Engineer/Scientist with a passion for developing advanced technologies and translating them into real-world applications. The ideal candidate will have:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, physics or computer science
  • 0-10 years of experience post BS in advanced technology related R&D
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Proficiency with programming in Python, Raspberry Pi, LabVIEW
  • Knowledge of radiofrequency hardware systems and testing equipment, including construction of RF circuits and familiarity with RF computer simulations
  • Experience in digital data processing
  • Ability to use circuit design software and interact with external circuit board fabrication shops

The candidate must be willing to expand into new skill sets and research fields, be able to work well independently and in a team environment, and have excellent English language proficiency.

TDA has a position open for facilities and industrial technician.  TDA carries out R&D and process development for methods to produce new materials and equipment. The candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and five to ten years of work experience in installing, calibrating, maintaining and repairing equipment. HVAC, welding, electrical and mechanical skills are desirable.

The technician will work with researchers and engineers to:

  • Electrically/mechanically troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of laboratory equipment. (e. autoclaves, vacuum pumps, ovens, chillers, mixers.)
  • Assist with all laboratory moves and new equipment installations.
  • Under general supervision, calibrate various tools and instruments.
  • Perform basic plumbing and carpentry repairs.
  • Document records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed.

Attend training for First Aid CPR/AED and other training as required.

Assist in response to facility emergency events and serve as a team member on various response teams.

May require after hours response to emergencies.

  • Convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to independently assess problems and complete tasks with minimal supervision

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Ability to stand and walk for long periods

Ability to climb and work from ladders.

Current Driver’s License, able to be insured on company vehicles.

Eligible to be fork truck certified.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with good computer skills and knowledge of MS Office.
  • Experience with asset tracking and maintenance software preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of fire and electrical codes is desirable.

The technician may be required to work with a variety of hazardous materials, such as compressed gases, cryogenic liquids, acids, bases, oxidizers, solvents, vacuum pump oils, and other hazardous chemicals. The technician will receive specialized safety training and be an active member of the safety and spill teams. The technician will travel between sites, located 4 miles apart, in a personal vehicle.

TDA is seeking an Operations Assistant Intern; the job function is to assist the Manager of Operations and Safety in routine tasks, which may include assembly of electronics hardware, office and clerical work, and warehousing and storage, including unloading and loading of vehicles. The applicant should have good communications skills, ability to take notes accurately for documentation of the process and follow-up written procedures.

This is a part-time, temporary position. Work days and hours will vary from week to week, and will be determined by the supervisor.

Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Ability to stand and walk for long periods

May require work over weekends

TDA is seeking a technician to carry out tests of chemical processes. The ideal candidate will have a BS in chemical or mechanical engineering, or HS diploma/GED with five to 10 years of relevant experience in an industry or R&D environment

The Technician will work with project leaders and engineers to troubleshoot equipment and carry out tests and experiments. Preferred skills include:

  • Machining
  • Plumbing – gas and liquid
  • Electrical wiring
  • Basic knowledge of chemistry
  • Familiarity with safety procedures
  • Experience with LabView software is desirable

The Technician will:

  • Operate test rigs to generate data on the materials and processes TDA is developing
  • Convey complex information clearly and concisely.

The Technician may be required to work with a variety of hazardous materials, such as compressed gases, cryogenic liquids, acids, bases, oxidizers, solvents, vacuum pump oils, and other hazardous chemicals.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Ability to sit, stand, or kneel for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs and ladders

TDA  is seeking a highly qualified chemist with the skills to prepare materials that enable breakthrough technologies.  The ideal candidate will have:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry or Materials Science, or M.S. with 10+ years of experience in the field
  • 1-5 years of experience post Ph.D. in advanced R&D efforts
  • Experience in organic synthesis and in the purification and characterization of products
  • Excellent writing and laboratory skills
  • An interest in expanding into new research fields
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment

Useful skills include the ability to:

  • Execute safe and effective chemical handling techniques
  • Use analytical methods to identify products and quantify the composition of product mixtures, including (but not limited to) GC, HPLC, NMR, FTIR and UV/VIS spectroscopy.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement in R&D projects.
  • Create safety documents, submit documentation for safety approval.

Technical Requirements:

  • Excellent chemical hygiene.
  • Chemical process scale-up and large-batch synthetic experience are a benefit.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.

The Senior Chemist will work under a Principal Investigator to build on current efforts and bring new research ideas to the group.  Effective proposal and report writing are important aspects of the position.
