TDA Research, Inc. is seeking an engineering intern with a passion for developing advanced technologies and translating them into real-world applications. The ideal candidate would be a junior or senior undergraduate student in engineering from either a chemical, mechanical, materials, or any other relevant background, some experience in industry or R&D environment is helpful but not required. Our work develops materials and devices for the energy. All of these projects involve hands on laboratory testing of the materials, including the design, building, and development of prototype devices, analysis of the data, and the preparation of reports based on the data. This position would ideally be for a full-time position, but would accept the right part-time applicant.

Candidates for screening interviews will have some of the following:

  • A junior or senior undergraduate student in an Engineering related field
  • Lab experience, particularly with mechanical/materials testing
  • Experience designing and building test apparatuses
  • Experience in data interpretation and analysis
  • Passion for turning ideas into new technology
  • A willingness and interest in expanding into new skill sets and research fields
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Ability to sit, stand, or kneel for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs and ladders

TDA Research, Inc. has a position open for a Materials Engineer. TDA is seeking a highly qualified R&D Engineer with a passion for developing advanced technologies and translating them into real-world application. TDA is located outside Denver, Colorado with offices in Wheat Ridge and Golden.  We have a staff of 100+ mainly engineers and scientists who develop cutting edge chemical processes, materials, and hardware for customers in the defense, aerospace, energy and chemical industries.  We rely on a high level of technical competence and efficiency within our team and look for motivated, talented, and skilled innovators to join us in developing advanced solutions.

This position works within a group developing innovative new materials solutions for demanding customers. This person will perform a variety of research and development tasks including laboratory chemical processing, material properties testing, modeling, data interpretation and analysis. The applications for these developed materials are wide ranging. Applicants with prior experience working in projects involving mechanical testing, sample preparation, device design, and prototype preparation are strongly encouraged to apply.

Strong candidates will have many of the following attributes:

  • BS or MS in Materials Engineering or related discipline
  • 0-5 years of experience post BS or MS in advanced technology related R&D
  • Experience with SolidWorks or LabView
  • Lab experience, particularly with mechanical/materials testing, wet chemistry sample preparation techniques, or hazardous materials such as acids, bases, solvents or oxidizers.
  • Experience designing and building test apparatuses
  • Experience in data interpretation and analysis
  • Experience in performing background scientific literature searches and applying concepts/ideas found in literature
  • Passion for turning ideas into new technology
  • A willingness and interest in expanding into new skill sets and research fields
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills

Staff are expected to work on several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Therefore, flexibility and an ability to learn new techniques quickly are essential.   Teamwork, collaboration, and clear communication are also important as the employee will need to interface with multidisciplinary teams of engineers and scientists.

 

Recent graduates applying for this opening should include their GPA and undergraduate research experience in their resume.

TDA Research has a position open for an Industrial Mechanic/Maintenance Tech Level II-III.  TDA carries out R&D and process development for methods to produce new materials and equipment. The candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and five to ten years of work experience in installing, calibrating, maintaining, rebuilding and repairing equipment. HVAC, welding, electrical and mechanical skills are desirable. Trade schooling preferred.

The technician will work with researchers and engineers to:

  • Electrically/mechanically troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of laboratory equipment. (i.e. autoclaves, vacuum pumps, ovens, chillers, mixers.)
  • Assist with all laboratory moves and new equipment installations.
  • Under general supervision, calibrate various tools and instruments.
  • Carry out tasks and projects delegated to them by supervisor and will be expected to complete projects with little supervision at times.
  • Perform basic plumbing and carpentry repairs.
  • Document records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed.
  • Attend training for First Aid CPR/AED and other training as required.
  • Assist in response to facility emergency events and serve as a team member on various response teams.
  • May require after hours response to emergencies.
  • Convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Ability to independently assess problems and complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Ability to climb and work from ladders.
  • Current Driver’s License, able to be insured on company vehicles.
  • Eligible to be fork truck certified.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with good computer skills and knowledge of MS Office.
  • Experience with asset tracking and maintenance software.
  • Basic knowledge of fire, electrical, plumbing and general building codes is desirable.

The technician may be required to work with a variety of hazardous materials, such as compressed gases, cryogenic liquids, acids, bases, oxidizers, solvents, vacuum pump oils, and other hazardous chemicals. The technician will receive specialized safety training and be an active member of the safety and spill teams. The technician will travel between sites, located 4 miles apart, in a personal vehicle. TDA Research, Inc. is located outside Denver, Colorado with research offices in Wheat Ridge and Golden.

Pay Range: $28/hr to $32/hr plus complete benefits package; Relocation assistance may be negotiable.

TDA Research, Inc has a position open for a part time janitorial and facilities laborer. TDA is located outside Denver, Colorado with offices in Wheat Ridge and Golden.  We have a staff of 110+ mainly engineers and scientists who develop cutting edge chemical processes, materials, and hardware for customers in the defense, aerospace, energy and chemical industries.

This position is for approximately 20-24 hours per week.  The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and experience in commercial facilities and building janitorial work.   The position will clean our office and lab building, as well as perform maintenance tasks as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Order and maintain inventory of all cleaning, restroom, and breakroom supplies.
  • Empty trash and replace liners.
  • Take trash and recycling to dumpsters.
  • Vacuum carpeting.
  • Clean glass on doors and walls.
  • Sweep and mop uncarpeted areas.
  • Clean kitchen areas: table tops, chairs, sinks, counter tops and appliances.
  • Clean restrooms: sanitize toilets, basins, and urinals.
  • Refill all restroom and kitchen supplies as needed.
  • Perform routine facilities tasks including light bulb replacement.
  • May also sweep walks, clean outside storage areas, remove snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks.
  • Will travel between sites, located 4 miles apart, in a personal vehicle
  • Perform other tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • HS diploma or GED.
  • 6 months of experience in commercial facilities and building janitorial work desired
  • Ability to lift up 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Ability to climb and work from ladders.
  • Current Driver’s License

Pay Range: $18/hour to $20/hour, without benefits as the position is part-time.
