TDA has an opening for a Full Time Production Technician to carry out sorbent and catalyst production. Production quantities may vary from pounds to tons of finished product. Multiple processes are used, including mixers, extruders, presses, tanks, and furnaces. This position will require production at all scales, with adequate notes and observations to facilitate historical record, reproduction, and further scale-up activities. Production will require handling and transfer of large amounts of material and chemicals. Applicant should be able to handle introduction of new processes and materials and multitask to complete multiple production processes and schedules concurrently.
Previous experience in any of the following areas:
- Batch-based Processing and Production
- Batch Control and History
- Quality Control
- Inventory Control
- General Laboratory Record Keeping and Practices
- Familiarity with production flow and packaging
- Streamlining, and improving production processes
- Troubleshooting product and process issues are also beneficial
The candidate should have:
- Excellent chemical hygiene
- Ability to work with a variety of hazardous materials, such as compressed gases, cryogenic liquids, acids, bases, oxidizers, and solvents. Some operations may require use of a dust mask or respirator
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to independently assess problems and complete tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods
- Ability to climb and work from ladders
- Current Driver’s License, able to be insured on company vehicles
- Eligible to be fork truck certified
Hourly Rate: $21.00 to $25.00 with the complete benefits package.

TDA Research, Inc. has a position open for a Laboratory Technician. TDA is seeking a highly qualified laboratory technician with a passion for developing advanced technologies and translating them into real-world applications.
The laboratory technician will be responsible for testing and reporting results on the performance of firefighting foams, dry chemical agents, defoaming agents, and fire sprinklers. This job will consist of a variety of duties throughout the week, rotating between testing within the foam and sprinkler labs. The laboratory technician may also occasionally be asked to complete various internal research tasks either on their own or in a group.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine analytical laboratory tests in accordance with the published test procedures
- Assist with various laboratory administrative duties
- Complete internal research as requested
- Assist with other duties as communicated by supervisor and rotate among multiple work stations
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
- Understanding of chemical hygiene and safety procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable with numerical analysis
- Ability to follow instructions with an attention to detail
- Ability to work well and coordinate with team members in a laboratory setting
Qualifications:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- Laboratory Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in a science major or previous laboratory technician experience
Physical Requirements:

- Ability to sit, stand, or kneel for extended periods of time.
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs and ladders

TDA is seeking a highly qualified R&D chemist with a passion for developing advanced technologies and translating them into real-world applications. This position works within an interdisciplinary group developing innovative fire suppressant chemistries. This individual will be responsible for designing and overseeing tests on the performance of firefighting foams, dry chemical agents, and defoaming agents. This individual will also perform a variety of research and development tasks including chemical synthesis, formulating, materials characterization, data interpretation, and analysis.
This job will consist of a variety of duties throughout the week, rotating between testing within the foam lab and other internal research tasks. They will be expected to be able to operate independently to complete challenging assignments, interface with other research teams, and run aspects of larger projects under the direction of a principal investigator. Applicants with prior experience working on projects involving synthesis, surfactants, coatings, or colloids are strongly encouraged to apply.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- S or M.S. in Chemistry, Materials Science, or related discipline
- 0-10 years of experience post-degree advanced technology-related R&D
- Lab experience, particularly in synthetic chemistry, chemical and materials characterization, method development, or rapid prototyping
- Broad interest in many areas of science, including organic/inorganic/analytical /electrochemistry, advanced materials, biochemistry, molecular biology, physics and engineering.
- A willingness and interest in expanding into new skill sets and research fields.
- Experience designing and building test apparatuses
- Experience with analytical instrumentation: NMR, FTIR, UV-Vis, LC, GC, mass spectroscopy, SEM-EDX, XPS, XRD, microscopy, etc.
- Experience in data interpretation, analysis, and reporting
- Passion for turning ideas into new technology
- Strong work ethic and independently motivated
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment

TDA has an immediate opening for a full time, highly motivated, versatile contract administrator to assist the Contract Manager with a variety of tasks. This position will be varied, with responsibilities for preparation of proposal budgets, monitoring of contracts and subcontracts, reporting and maintaining government property control records, and helping to ensure that contract reporting and deliverable obligations are fulfilled. This position will provide audit support and assist with the preparation of periodic reports. We need a candidate who can contribute to our team with strong organizational and excel skills, comfortable with ambiguity, a high degree of accuracy, a positive attitude and a desire to learn the unique requirements of government contract accounting and reporting.
Requirements:
- 2-5 years of recent “hands-on” contract administration experience

TDA has a position open for an Experienced Engineering Technician. The ideal candidate would have a high school diploma or college degree and five to ten years of relevant work experience in an industry or R&D environment. Additional training or trade skills are desirable.
The Engineering Technician will work with project leaders and engineers to assemble and troubleshoot equipment.
Preferred skills include:
- Welding
- Machining
- Plumbing – gas and liquid
- Electrical wiring
- General assembly
- Basic knowledge of chemistry
- Familiarity with safety procedures
Technicians at TDA commonly perform the following tasks:
- Install, calibrate and maintain equipment.
- Electrically/mechanically troubleshoot and maintain both new and existing laboratory equipment (autoclaves, pumps, ovens, chillers, mixers).
- Assist with all laboratory moves and new equipment installations
- Under general supervision, calibrate various lab tools and instruments (for example, mass flow controllers, thermocouples, data loggers.)
- Document records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed.
- Convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Perform other duties as assigned
The candidate should be capable of driving a fork truck and TDA vehicles, and use pallet jacks. The technician may be required to work with a variety of hazardous materials, such as compressed gases, cryogenic liquids, acids, bases, oxidizers, solvents, vacuum pump oils, and other hazardous chemicals. The technician will receive specialized safety training and be an active member of the safety and spill teams. The technician will travel between sites in a personal vehicle.
