TDA Research, Inc. is seeking a highly qualified scientist/engineer with a passion for developing advanced technologies and translating them into real-world applications.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Physics, Physics, Materials Science or related field
  • 0-5 years of experience post Ph.D. in advanced technology related R&D
  • Experience in one or more of these areas: sensors, hardware design and construction for electron paramagnetic resonance or nuclear magnetic resonance, electromagnetics, materials characterization with optical techniques, processing of large datasets using Python, Matlab or similar program
  • Passion for generating new approaches to technical challenges
  • Experience in proposal writing and developing funding for R&D
  • Excellent writing and laboratory skills
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment

The senior research scientist/engineer will work under a Principal Investigator to build on current efforts and bring new research ideas to the group.  A successful candidate must be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers, have high written and spoken English language proficiency, and have excellent analytical skills. This position requires personal initiative to accomplish technological innovation and creativity in support of new business development.   Effective proposal and report writing are important aspects of the position.

Annual salary range: $95,000 to $115,000 with the full benefits package.

TDA Research, Inc., a research and development company located in Wheat Ridge, CO, has a position open for an Engineering Technician. The ideal candidate would have a high school diploma or GED. No specific work experience is required, however work experience in an industrial or R&D environment and additional training or trade skills are desirable.

The Engineering Technician will work with project leaders and engineers to assemble and troubleshoot prototype devices and to perform laboratory testing.

Preferred skills include:

  • Plumbing – gas and liquid
  • Basic knowledge of chemistry
  • Electrical wiring
  • General assembly
  • Familiarity with safety procedures
  • Welding
  • Machining
  • Familiarity with MS Office (including Excel for data management)

The Engineering Technician will:

  • Assemble and test prototype devices (including but not limited to water purification devices, filtration systems, and medical devices).
  • Perform wet chemistry techniques (after detailed training from an experienced scientist) such as mixing solutions, performing titrations, or preparing samples for analytical equipment.
  • Install, calibrate and maintain equipment.
  • Electrically/mechanically troubleshoot and maintain both new and existing laboratory equipment (autoclaves, pumps, ovens, chillers, mixers).
  • Assist with all laboratory moves and new equipment installations
  • Under general supervision, calibrate various lab tools and instruments (for example, mass flow controllers, thermocouples, data loggers, conductivity meters).
  • Maintain stores of consumables, order replacement parts, source alternative components, and acquire product quotes as needed.
  • Document records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed.
  • Convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

The candidate should be able to drive TDA vehicles and to use a pallet jack. The technician may be required to work with a variety of hazardous materials, such as compressed gases, cryogenic liquids, acids, bases, oxidizers, solvents, vacuum pump oils, and other hazardous chemicals. The technician will receive specialized safety training and be an active member of the safety and spill teams. The technician will travel between sites in a personal vehicle.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Ability to sit, stand, or kneel for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs and ladders

TDA carries out R&D in developing prototype devices, catalysis and adsorption, aerospace components, and personal protective equipment. TDA’s objective is to carry out research that leads to commercial products, several products that are the result of our research have gone into production or large-scale use, and others are nearing commercialization. TDA carries out work in a wide variety of areas, and virtually all staff work on two or three projects simultaneously.  Therefore, an ability to learn quickly is essential.

A successful candidate must be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers, English language proficiency, and have excellent analytical skills.

Annual salary range: $40,000 to $50,000 with the full benefits package.

Under the supervision of the Staff Accountant, this position is responsible for basic bookkeeping and accounting duties. The Accountant’s functions are primarily related to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cash Management.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile cash and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Assist with Month End Adjusting Journal Entries.
  • Ensures that invoices/purchase orders are accurate, properly approved, and coded for entry.
  • Enter Accounts Payable invoices into accounting software, review other employee’s AP batches after entry.
  • Coordinate with Staff Accountant to prepare and submit Accounts Receivable invoices.
  • Assist in audits by retrieving documents and preparing them for auditor review.
  • Provide information in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Other duties or special projects as requested.

 Experience and Education:

  • Basic knowledge of Office Suite and Adobe.
  • Critical thinking and highly organized.
  • No accounting experience required, but advanced courses in accounting or related field desirable.
  • Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable experience a plus.
  • High school or GED required.
  • Looking for a quick learner with effective verbal and written communication skills interested in expanding knowledge and experience in accounting and office administration.

 Full‐time position; 40 hours per week.

Pay Range: $20/hour – $24/hour plus full benefits package.

Under the supervision of the Staff Accountant, this position is responsible for basic bookkeeping and accounting duties. The Accounting Clerk’s tasks are primarily related to processing of documents for accounts payable entry into our accounting system.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in processing invoices/purchase orders for payment. Ensures that invoices/purchase orders are accurate, properly approved, and coded for entry.
  • Enter invoices into accounting software.
  • File documents; invoices/check-stub and invoices to our customers.
  • Coordinate with program managers and staff accountant to ensure that all documentation and support are in order and that invoices are processed in a timely manner.
  • Establish new vendors and maintain vendor files.
  • Assist in annual audit retrieving documents and preparing them for auditor review.
  • Cross‐trained in duties of administrative assistant to cover the front desk; greeting employees and customers, assist in preparing outgoing shipments.
  • Provide information in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Data entry for gas cylinder inventory and maintain property control spreadsheets.
  • Other duties or special projects as requested.

 Experience and Education:

  • Basic knowledge of Office Suite and Adobe.
