TDA is located outside Denver, Colorado with offices in Wheat Ridge and Golden. We have a staff of 100+ mainly engineers and scientists who develop cutting edge chemical processes, materials, and hardware for customers in the defense, aerospace, energy and chemical industries.

TDA is currently looking to hire a Controller. This position is an integral part of the administrative team and helps to ensure that the month-end closing process is accurate and efficient. This position will manage the AR and AP functions and will prepare the monthly financial statements for management review. Additionally, this position will entail responsibilities for audit support, payroll review, and compliance with various federal reporting requirements. This position interacts with all employees of the organization.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Must be a fully involved manager and be able to work professionally with all personnel, including direct reports and other management personnel
  • Manage A/R and A/P functions
  • Manage the general ledger and reconciliations
  • Work closely with the contract management team to ensure correct reporting and accounting for all contracts and awards
  • Partner with HR on payroll and reporting
  • Lead month-end and year-end close
  • Prepare accurate and timely accounting records and reports in accordance with GAAP
  • Present financials and associated reports to TDA’s Board of Directors and shareholders
  • Analyze and explain variances from annual budgets
  • Coordinate outside audits with outside independent auditors and regulatory agencies (DCAA), oversee preparation of required items
  • Manage capital purchases and depreciation
  • Establish, monitor, and enforce accounting procedures and internal controls
  • Other job-related duties as needed

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Degree in accounting or finance is required
  • Demonstrated accounting and finance knowledge with at least eight years of supervisory experience in a similar role
  • Excel in a time-sensitive, deadline-driven environment with the ability to prioritize and keep a positive outlook
  • Detail-oriented problem solver
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Government Contractor Cost Accounting requirements

The salary range is $130,000.00 – $175,000 per year, with a complete benefits package.

TDA Research, Inc., has a paid Fall Chemist Internship. The Chemist Intern will work with project leaders to perform various research and development tasks in a chemical and analytical laboratory under the direction of a senior scientist. A successful candidate must be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers, with English language proficiency, and have excellent analytical skills. TDA carries out work in a wide variety of areas, and virtually all staff work on two or three projects simultaneously.  Therefore, an ability to learn quickly is essential.

The Chemist Intern may be required to work with a variety of hazardous materials, such as compressed gases, cryogenic liquids, acids, bases, oxidizers, solvents, vacuum pump oils, and other hazardous chemicals. The chemist will receive specialized safety training and be an active member of the safety and spill teams. The Chemist Intern will need reliable transportation to travel between work sites.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct reaction chemistry experiments at the bench scale
  • Prepare, purify, and analyze small molecule and polymer samples
  • Document results and observations regarding various experiments
  • Convey complex information clearly and concisely (verbal, written, presentations)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Educations Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
  • Actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s program at an accredited university
  • Completed Organic Chemistry with Lab

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with glassware and standard laboratory methods
    • Practical familiarity with organic chemistry and basic synthesis
  • Comfortable with stoichiometry calculations
  • Handling and disposal of acids and bases, organic compounds, and solvents
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and adherence to company safety policies
  • Analytical method experience a plus: NMR, FTIR, GC, HPLC, and UV/VIS spectroscopy
  • Strong attention to detail, good bookkeeping and organizational skills, and desire to learn

Physical Demands:

  • Sit, stand, or kneel for extended periods

Part-time to full-time position depending on candidates availability. Duration is flexible depending on candidates availability. 

Pay rate is $20.00 per hour, without benefits as this is a Fall Internship and temporary.

TDA Research, Inc., is searching for a highly qualified Electrical Engineer II who is passionate about developing advanced technologies and translating them into real-world applications. The ideal candidate will have a minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer science. The Electrical Engineer II will work under a Principal Investigator/Senior Engineer to build on current efforts and bring new research ideas to the group. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical systems
  • Evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs and applying knowledge of electricity and materials
  • Confirm systems and components capabilities by designing testing methods

TDA is looking for a Senior Process Engineer with industrial experience and a strong passion for new technology/process development. Our fast-paced work environment offers a myriad of opportunities for a self-motivated, multi-faceted process engineer. The Senior Process Engineer will work with project leaders and research engineers design and optimize new process concepts, commercial demonstration units, and full-scale systems.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and evaluate process designs of real and conceptual processes for various applications including CO2 capture and gas separations and purification
  • Perform engineering calculations with minimal supervision and review the calculations and engineering documents of others
  • Create, review, and markup and update existing engineering documents such as PFD’s, P&ID’s, and drawings as requested
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, and system FAT during the process development
  • Provide in-office and on-site engineering support for start-up, field demonstrations, performance testing, and routine maintenance activities
  • Collect and analyze process and operating data from field test units
  • Convey complex information clearly and concisely
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong grasp of fundamental thermodynamic, heat transfer, and mass transfer principles including separations
  • Experience executing Front End Engineering Design (FEED and pre-FEED) packages
  • Proficient in building and optimizing complex process models including implementation of features such as control loops and recycle loops using simulation tools such as Symmetry, Aspen Plus, Pro II, or other process simulation software
  • Ability to prepare heat and material balances, PFD’s and P&ID’s from scratch for new process concepts
  • Proficient at equipment and pipe sizing, specifying process equipment such as blowers, compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, vacuum systems, and gas-solid and gas-liquid contactors
  • Ability to execute full plant cost analysis and evaluate the technoeconomic viability of new and existing processes
  • Effective communication with engineering and equipment vendors
  • Strong familiarity with industrial safety procedures
  • Foundational understanding of system controls and basic plant layout principles
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to track documents
  • Excellent communication skills with efficient visualization techniques
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible to manage and execute multiple projects in parallel

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Regular, frequent use of process simulation tools (e.g., Symmetry, Aspen Plus)
  • Experience with gas purification processes especially TSA, VSA, and PSA systems
  • Experience with pilot plant design, construction, run planning, and operation
  • Experience with scaling-up engineering and pilot-scale processes to demonstration and commercial-scale designs
  • Experience facilitating and managing third-party engineering sub-contracts
  • Participation in safety and operational hazard analysis and familiarity with best practices
  • Experience designing carbon capture processes is a plus
  •  AutoCAD P&ID development is a plus
  • Strong technical writing skills

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum 10+ years of industrial process design experience

Physical Demands:

  • Lift 40 pounds

  • Ascend and descend stairs and ladders

Relocation reimbursement is available.

The annual salary range is $125,000-$165,000, plus the complete benefits package.
