TDA Research, Inc., a research and development company, located in Wheat Ridge and Golden, CO is looking to hire an Electrochemical Engineering Intern. The ideal candidate would be actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Electrical Engineering at an accredited university. Additional training or trade skills are desirable.
The Electrochemical Engineering Intern will perform a variety of research and development tasks in a chemical and analytical laboratory under the direction of a senior engineer, including preparing solutions, using analytical tools to identify products, and constructing and testing device prototypes.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Execute safe and effective chemical handling techniques
- Follow detailed instructions when performing established experimental methods
- Assemble, test, and troubleshoot devices, equipment, and control systems
- Analyze data and prepare experimental and quality control reports
- Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement in R&D projects
- Keep detailed records
- Analytical method experience a plus: Elemental Analysis, GC, HPLC, NMR, FTIR and UV/VIS spectroscopy
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Electrical Engineering or a related degree at an accredited university
- Prior glovebox work
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience with batteries and fabricating coin cells
Physical Demands:
- Lift 40 pounds
- Sit, stand, or kneel for extended periods of time
- Ascend and descend stairs and ladders
The Intern may be required to work with a variety of hazardous materials, such as compressed gases, cryogenic liquids, acids, bases, oxidizers, solvents, vacuum pump oils, and other hazardous chemicals. The Intern will receive specialized safety training and be an active member of the safety and spill teams. The Intern will travel between sites in a personal vehicle.
TDA carries out R&D in developing prototype devices, catalysis and adsorption, aerospace components, and personal protective equipment. TDA’s objective is to carry out research that leads to commercial products, several products that are the result of our research have gone into production or large-scale use, and others are nearing commercialization. TDA carries out work in a wide variety of areas, and virtually all staff work on two or three projects simultaneously. Therefore, an ability to learn quickly is essential.
A successful candidate must be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers, English language proficiency, and have excellent analytical skills.

TDA is searching for a full-time Accounting Associate. Under the direction of the Controller, this position’s initial responsibilities will focus on Accounts Payable processes, with the opportunity to gain experience in Accounts Receivable and Project Accounting after core functions have been mastered. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent written communications skills, and the motivation to provide excellent service to teammates and partners. This is an in-office position, no remote or hybrid.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Process vendor, facilities, subcontractor, and other invoices daily
- Reconcile vendor statements
- Match invoices to purchase orders and confirm required approvals are received
- Enter credit card charges and reconcile credit card statements
- Assist with new vendor set-up and vendor database maintenance
- Respond to vendor inquiries and initiate communications when necessary
- Track sales & use tax for applicable invoices
- Review employee reimbursement requests
- Gain a full understanding of TDA’s purchasing process and help staff troubleshoot on purchase requisitions, purchase orders, purchase receipts, and committed costs
- Other related duties as assigned

TDA Research, Inc. is searching for a highly qualified Electrical Engineer II passionate about developing advanced technologies and translating them into real-world applications. The ideal candidate will have at a minimum a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer science. The Electrical Engineer II will work under a Principal Investigator/Senior Engineer to build on current efforts and bring new research ideas to the group.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design electrical systems by developing and testing components
- Evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs and applying knowledge of electricity and materials
- Confirm systems and components’ capabilities by designing testing methods
- Develop electrical products by studying customer requirements and researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials
- Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components and by soliciting observations from operators
- Assure product quality by designing electrical testing methods and testing finished products and system capabilities
- Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests
- Maintain product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer science with relevant experience in hardware development

- Embedded systems design and PCB fabrication (Altium)

TDA has a position open for an Electrical Engineering Technician I-II. The Electrical Engineering Technician will work with project leaders and engineers to assemble, test, and troubleshoot electrical devices.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Crimping, soldering, and assembling custom wiring harnesses and cables
- Perform reworks and repairs on custom-printed circuit boards
- Assemble and test electrical breadboards or prototype boards from schematic drawings
- Program prototype electronic devices
- Assist with new equipment installations
- Maintain and enforce cleanliness in shared electronic assembly areas, including soldering stations and harness assembly workbenches
- Hand soldering through-hole and
- General assembly
- Document board reworks, repairs, and other work performed

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- At least 1 year of experience in an R&D environment or related industry

TDA Research has a position open for Technician I-II. TDA carries out R&D and process development for methods to produce new materials and equipment. The technician will use technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to install, troubleshoot, calibrate, and build equipment. The position will require ordering parts needed for replacement and coordinate with service providers to complete maintenance tasks. Candidates with previous work experience and or trade certification in the following fields HVAC, welding, hydraulics, electrical, robotics/automation and automotive/diesel mechanics are desirable and will be given strong consideration for the position. All tools and safety equipment are provided by TDA.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Electrically/mechanically troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of laboratory, infrastructure and plant equipment. (i.e. vacuum pumps, compressors, electric motors, transfer pumps, heaters, recirculating chillers, mixers. Etc.)
- Under supervision fabricate, assemble, and calibrate prototype test systems. Including plumbing, carpentry, wiring, and light machining.
- Carry out tasks and projects delegated to them by supervisor and will be expected to complete projects with little supervision at times.
- Document records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed
- Convey complex information clearly and concisely
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 0-5 years of work experience in installing, calibrating, maintaining, rebuilding, and repairing equipment and tools
- Using manufactures recommendations to repair and perform basic maintenance
- Under supervision fabricate and assemble prototype test systems
- Ability to read and comprehend Blueprints/Schematics and wiring diagrams
- Strong troubleshooting skills and be an innovative problem solver
- Understanding of physics, mechanical processes/fundamentals. Experience with automation systems, PLC’s, robotics and ladder logic are a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with good computer skills and knowledge of MS Office and Outlook
- Current Driver’s License, able to be insured on company vehicles
- Eligible to be fork truck certified
- Strong organizational skills and precise attention to details
- Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
- Install software and perform product software configuration as part of manufacturing
- Read and interpret manufacturing work instructions
- Accurately document and maintain information in written and electronic form
- Participate with operations team to improve and refine manufacturing and quality processes
- Assist with management of inventory including counting, inspections, handling
- Assist with organization and maintaining cleanliness
