TDA Research, Inc. is located outside Denver, Colorado with locations in Golden. We have a staff of 130+ mainly engineers and scientists who develop cutting edge chemical processes, materials, and hardware for customers in the defense, aerospace, energy and chemical industries. Virtually all staff work on two or three projects simultaneously, therefore, an ability to learn quickly is essential. TDA has a position open for a Senior Technician that will perform hands-on tasks in support of engineering efforts in a lab or workshop setting. This position will use technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to install, troubleshoot, calibrate, and build equipment. This position requires various technical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work in a dynamic environment requiring independence.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Electrically & mechanically troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of laboratory, infrastructure and plant equipment (i.e. vacuum pumps, compressors, electric motors, transfer pumps, heaters, recirculating chillers, mixers. Etc.)
- Fabricate, assemble, and calibrate complex prototype test systems. Including plumbing, carpentry, wiring, and machining
- Carry out tasks and projects delegated to them by supervisor and will be expected to complete projects with little supervision at times
- Document records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed
- Convey complex information clearly and concisely
- Assist with management of inventory including counting, inspections, handling
- Assist with organization and maintaining cleanliness
- Install software and perform product software configuration as part of manufacturing
- Read and interpret manufacturing work instructions
- Coordinate with operations team to improve and refine manufacturing and quality processes
- Document and maintain accurate information in written and electronic form
- Travel to remote worksites as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5-10 years of work experience in installing, calibrating, maintaining, rebuilding, and repairing equipment and tools
- Experience using manufacture’s recommendations to repair and perform basic maintenance
- Experience with fabricating and assembling prototype test systems
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams
- Strong troubleshooting skills and innovative problem-solving skills
- Understanding of physics, mechanical processes/fundamentals
- Strong organizational skills and precise attention to details
- Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Current Driver’s License, able to be insured on company vehicles
- Eligible to be fork truck certified
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform gross manipulation (i.e. reaching, lifting) & fine manipulation (i.e. small tool use, handling small objects)
- Close visual acuity for working with small components
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods
- Ability to bend, kneel crouch often
- Ability to climb and work from ladders
- Work environment may have moderate to high level of noise
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Experience with automation systems, PLC’s, robotics and ladder logic are a plus
- Trade schooling or certification preferred in HVAC, welding, hydraulics, electrical, robotics, automation or high vacuum system
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing, lab or R&D environment

Salary rate: $90,000 – $110,000 with complete benefits package.
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors as education, experience, skill set, and/or location.
